Born in 1955 in Reggio Calabria, Italy, Donatella Versace is a fashion icon and philanthropist. As the younger sister of Gianni Versace, she joined him in Milan in 1978, supporting his vision while studying at the University of Florence. After Gianni’s tragic death in 1997, Donatella became the artistic director of Versace, shaping the brand into a global powerhouse.
In May 2024, she was awarded the Grand Ufficiale dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana for her contributions to fashion and her humanitarian work, particularly for women and the LGBTQ+ community. Later that year, in October 2024, she was honored as the "Prophet of Philanthropy" by The Galileo Foundation for her charitable efforts.
