Donatella Versace became the Chief Brand Ambassador for Versace on April 1st 2025, following 28 years as Chief Creative Officer of the house, one of the world’s leading and most recognized luxury fashion brands. 

Born in 1955 in Reggio Calabria, Italy, Donatella Versace is a fashion icon and philanthropist. As the younger sister of Gianni Versace, she joined him in Milan in 1978, supporting his vision while studying at the University of Florence. After Gianni’s tragic death in 1997, Donatella became the artistic director of Versace, shaping the brand into a global powerhouse. 

In May 2024, she was awarded the Grand Ufficiale dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana for her contributions to fashion and her humanitarian work, particularly for women and the LGBTQ+ community. Later that year, in October 2024, she was honored as the "Prophet of Philanthropy" by The Galileo Foundation for her charitable efforts. 

Donatella is the most followed fashion designer on social media, with over 12 million followers. She has led Versace across multiple sectors, including fashion, home design, jewelry, and fragrances, and cultivated relationships with major artists like Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, and Lady Gaga. 

Her significant contributions to the fashion world have earned her numerous awards, including the Fashion Icon Award, Designer of the Year from British GQ, and the CNMI Award for Equity and Inclusivity. Donatella is also deeply involved in philanthropic causes, including supporting the Elton John AIDS Foundation and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and health services.
